Hey everyone, Professor Tim here!
I just got back from Affiliate Summit West 2016 out in cold Las Vegas, Nevada. The event was held at the Paris Hotel from January 10-12.
What is Affiliate Summit?
Founded by Shawn Collins and Missy Ward, this conference is the premier event in the world of affiliate marketing. In 2003, the duo decided to start a networking-focused event that was highly educating and aimed at connecting affiliates with solution providers.
The event has grown into much more than that, and my recent trip had one large takeaway – the number of manufacturers or products has really increased over the years. I counted four (there may have been more) vendors who were private labeling skin care products as well as offering custom formulas for those who wanted that “special blend.” There were also a number of nutraceutical and herbal supplement manufacturers offering the same. Of course, the large networks that tend to house many offers were there in full effect, including: shareasale, clickbooth, avantlink, and max bounty. I’m forgetting probably a dozen more but you get the “just” of it – every big network was out there.
I wasn’t able to attend any of the breakout sessions due to time constraints, so I can’t comment on how any of those went. It was a short trip for me and I had several key meetings with strategic partners and manufacturing partners, but I made a few new friends along the way. If you are into affiliate marketing, management, are an advertiser, or network, you should take the time to go to one of these shows. Affiliate Summit East will be in July on the East Coast. (New York City.)
That’s my short and sweet Affiliate Summit 2016 review. I know it wasn’t too in depth but I wasn’t there for that long and all I can say is “you have to be there.”
I’ll be back soon with some photos. In the mean time, read more about me and how you can get into this highly lucrative space.
